With Pierie away, I have required a few extra feet to come up and help Virginia and me.
Josh, my son, accompanied us for an entire class. He beamed through the whole hour.

Pierie and I revamped and unveiled our DanceSTRONG/Zumba program at the Hamptons School this past October. I have to admit it was a huge success! We were very proud of the work we did and how much the kids loved it. We designed theme days and with each style we dressed accordingly and educated the students with fun and interesting facts. The best parts were dressing up, the kids excitement and reliving the 80's!
For the last three years FFC has had the privilege of being invited to work with Sheri Drewitz-Kanten. Sheri runs an intensive dance workshop every year for Calgary's most talented dancers in and around Calgary. Our "job" is to teach a full hour DanceSTRONG class to help the youth improve their cardio vascular training after having had the summer off. Their energy and zest for dance flowed from each and every one of them. What a blast!
Today is my daughter Julie's 2nd birthday. Along with celebrating this momentous day it had me reflecting on what FFC was up to two years ago. The morning I went into labor was also the same day we were appearing on Breakfast Television. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't going to be there but delivering Julie did take a bit out of me!
We were on the BT show to build awareness for Bust a Move for Breast Health. Bust a Move was a six hour fitness extravaganza designed to raise valuable funds for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. We were honoured to work alongside other Calgary talent such as Jari Love, creator of the Get RIPPED programs. The event was so much fun! At times we were in tears we were laughing so hard. It felt great to raise money for such a great cause and laugh all the way through. Thanks again to everyone who joined us on this day! We will never forget meeting Mr Richard Simmons...... It has been a fantastic week of classes! Saw lots of new people and a few faces we hadn't seen in awhile which was super exciting! Michelle unveiled a new choreography on Monday night that is very high energy and gets the heart pumping. Great job, Michelle!
Our contract at Rosemont School has been wonderful and it was really fun this week teaching the kids how to choreograph their own dances. These kids have moves!! Fit for Change is now on Twitter so please follow us (@FitForChangeFFC). We also regularly update our Facebook page so please make sure to check back often for updates and pictures of what we've been up to.
